Performance Career
Roots in Music
Eric’s journey as a performer began in his youth, where he grew up at his father’s piano singing a wide variety of songs. His early talent led him to tour with the Metropolitan Boys Choir, a prestigious experience that included being featured on a recorded album. He made his musical theater debut in Amahl and the Night Visitors with the North Dakota Civic Light Opera (NDCLO), marking the start of a lifelong dedication to the stage.
The Definitive "Jekyll & Hyde"
Eric is widely recognized for his deep connection to Frank Wildhorn’s Jekyll & Hyde. He has starred in the title role numerous times across the country, including celebrated productions at the Starlight Theatre, the Croswell Opera House, and Fullerton Civic Light Opera (FCLO). Throughout his many turns as the title character, his performances have been met with stunning accolades and reviews, marked by several "bluebird moments" that define his legacy with the show.
Notably, Eric played a pivotal role in the evolution of the piece at FCLO. He assisted in the rewriting and staging of this version and originated the title role in its World Premiere. This production was significant for introducing substantial script and sequence changes that were eventually authorized by the show's licensor, Musical Theatre International (MTI), for use in subsequent productions. Critics noted that this version improved upon the original Broadway production by tightening the first act, enhancing the gothic atmosphere, and increasing the psychological depth of the characters.

Eric’s stage career is highlighted by notable runs in some of the world's most prestigious venues. His Broadway and National Tour credits include:
The Scarlet Pimpernel: Original Broadway Company (Coupeau/Chauvelin). Featured on Original Broadway Cast Recording. This show was nominated for three Tony awards.

Personal Life
In 2003, Eric married his wife, Amy. Shortly after their wedding, Amy was diagnosed with cancer, and Eric spent the next two years serving as her dedicated caregiver. This experience ignited his lifelong passion for supporting the mental health of cancer survivors and caregivers alike. Amy has been cancer-free since 2006, and together they continue to host events across the country with their program Big C New Me (under the Breaking The Chains umbrella) to support the survivor and caregiver community.
Reflecting on his journey, Eric feels most fortunate for the lifelong friends he has made throughout his career—relationships he cherishes deeply. Eric and Amy have lived in historic Scottsville, Virginia since 2006. They share their home with their two beloved dogs, Starr and Wynn. Whether on stage or in his studio, Eric remains committed to the joy of performance and the community of artists he helps thrive.
